California Governor Bears Not the Sword in Vain

The state of California will execute the death penalty upon the founder of the Crip's gang, Tookie Williams. He is scheduled to die at 3:01am Tuesday. Pray for the conversion and repentance of this man who has refused to admit to the 1979 murders for which he is being punished. Mr. Williams will meet Jesus Christ at 3:01am Tuesday, presumably unprepared.

Let this cause each one of us to be mindful of the temporal nature of this life in the flesh. Are you prepared to stand before the judgment seat of Christ?
For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same: For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil.
Romans 13.3&4

It's nice to see the Governator is going to allow this wicked murderer to be put to death in accordance with God's law. Granted, it's 25 years late but it's justice nonetheless.

What time zone? I'm assuming its 3:01 Eastern Standard Time. Do you know what method they use in California? You know that I have mixed feelings on the death penalty, and at this moment I am undecided. However, the thought of someone dying and meeting Christ unprepared like that makes me feel sick.

It will 12:01 in California, 3:01 here in Michigan. They are using lethal injection.

Refer to the Romans 13 verse...the state is equiped with the sword to punish evil doers....the sword is not used for life in prison!
Also in the Noahic covenant God said that if man sheds blood, so too shall his blood be shed.)

It is very sad if he has to meet Christ unprepared, but that is the penalty of sin, death.

Pray for him.

(BTW, you don't look too shaken up by this.)

I'm proud to see the Gov stick to his guns. I've always liked him even though he has gotten critism from the extreme right of his party. This proves that he is a true conservative at heart.

A good synopsis on Tookie can be found here: http://www.overlawyered.com/2005/12/a_thought_on_tookie.html

He's had 25 years in prison to prepare.

It annoys me that people are proclaiming that he has "redeemed" himself. This, as we Christians know, is impossible. In any case, even if he had amended his ways, that wouldn't abrogate the requirements of justice.
