Pastor's Wives Gone Wild

We ministers and theology students need to learn to be less critical of our wives. They are fragile beings that need to be loved and cared for and not criticized and yelled at. Pastor's wives are people too.

Let's not forget their kids too. they are not perfect and do the same dumb things as other kids do. Try not to put too much pressure on them or they will crack. Some will walk away from the Lord because of this.

What is so disgusting about all of this is that church members are willing to testify on this womans behalf. This broad should be put to death for the crime of murder, how any Christian can, in good conscience, sit in a courtroom and tell a judge how wonderful a murderer is simply blows my mind.

N.L. -- They testify on her behalf because they likely don't understand the Reformed doctrine of the separation of Church and State. While she can find forgiveness of the sin of murder in Christ, the State must still try her and if found guilty, execute due punishment for the murder. Repentant murders should be restored to the fellowship of the Church, but the State still needs to punish them.

Another thing to remember is that many people lose whatever ability they had for clear thinking in the face of trauma. Having the pastor's wife shoot the pastor is a trauma for the whole church. That doesn't make it right, but it's certainly understandable.

Finally let's all remember, that our own capacity for sin is no less than that of this poor woman. There, but for the grace of God, go any of us.

We should have compassion on this woman as well as make her be held accountable for her sin.

If she repents, she should be forgiven although still pay the price that the state requires.

Death yes. Compassion yes.

This story just sickens me every time I hear of it.

If the wife's story is true, then it's not a stretch to say that the church members most likely had a lousy shepherd, which would explain why they're defending her.

That's if you believe a woman who has so much as admited knocking off her husband. Don't forget, this is a capital case. I frankly don't believe her story simply because if her story is true she will be more likely to sway a jury into giving her life in prison rather than the death penalty.
