Blood Covered Coloring Pages

This is a copy of my daughter's coloring page from her Sabbath school class (she is two years old). Notice that Presbyterians of the historical kind do not bow the knee to political correctness.
We are to teach the whole counsel of God, and sometimes those truths are not very fun to share. But they are a part of the Gospel. In Genesis 22 we have Abraham going to sacrifice his son to God. God provided a scapegoat in the thicket as a type of the coming Messiah.
Praise God that He provided a scapegoat in His son Jesus Christ. May we glean truth from forbidden coloring pages that liberal Christians do not want us to share in our churches or in our homes with our children.

Forbidden Bible stories, huh?
Well... when I was a very young and just embarking on the world of catechetical instruction, our poor instructor made the fatal error of allowing us, his students, to pick out passages for devotions.
The net result was that every week for the entire year we got to hear various dramatic readings of the story of Ehud, whose fat closed around the sword that had been plunged into him. A classic story and a big hit with the younger set, obviously.

That is the first one that I thought of too. I have a dozen others stored in my mind under unsanctified thoughts. I will save them so that others have a turn!

Well, as long as we're in Judges we've got to bring up the story of Jael. The verse in which she slays him is so understated that it's hysterical - "Then Jael Heber's wife took a nail of the tent, and took an hammer in her hand, and went softly unto him, and smote the nail into his temples, and fastened it into the ground: for he was fast asleep and weary. So he died."

Some of the younger set from Credenda/Agenda once had a magazine called Crack Haus Chronicles in which they portrayed this story in "Precious Moments" format. Good stuff.

I prefer the pleasant looking Bibical charaters that I saw in my Baptist Sunday School class when I was growing up. That picture could traumatize a child.

Wasn't Ehud on th etoliet when all that went down as well? Maybe I'm wrong

Baptonymous: I am sure that Isaac was a bit traumatized too! Maybe Abraham should have worn a big Mickey Mouse Halloween mask while bringing the Case Double X deer knife that was freshly sharpened down on his son!

Also Mark: could you link that for me...The CA Crack Haus?

Anon: yes, on the john!

Thanks.

Unfortunately, Crack Haus never had an online presence, so I can't link to it.
