Who Would Luther Read?

‘Bernard of Clairvaux, a man so godly, so holy, so pure, that we should commend and prefer him before all the theologians of the Church.”

If you'll notice in my list of books that a Christian should read before he dies I have A Treatise on the Love of God by Bernard of Clairvaux. I highly recommend it.

Shouldn't that list include the Bible?

The list presupposes the Bible.

You should make that more clear then, otherwise we'll take you for some sort of gnostic rather than a Christian.

Luther must have been a gnostic too. He doesn't mention any of the bible writers.

Luther has credibility, historical and otherwise. Big difference between him and a random person with a random list of 'must' reads.
