A Plea for Justice

If feminism was defined as women having equal worth before a Triune God as well as equal worth before humanity than I can accept that as a definition. Feminism has gone well beyond its original intentions. Feminism was not intended to give women an authority over their own body that God does not even grant under his law.

In what the evangelical world calls "Sanctity of Life Sunday" may we pray that the Lord would serve justice as an estimated 40 million children have been slaughtered from the womb. (This is over 6 times the numbers of people murdered in the Holocaust.)

"When we consider that women are treated as property, it is degrading to women that we should treat our children as property to be disposed of as we see fit."
-Elizabeth Cady Stanton

"The woman is awfully guilty who commits abortion...It will burden her conscience in life, it will burden her soul in death."
-Susan B. Anthony

For You formed my inward parts; You wove me in my mother's womb. I will give thanks to You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Wonderful are Your works, And my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from You, When I was made in secret, And skillfully wrought in the depths of the earth; Your eyes have seen my unformed substance; And in Your book were all written The days that were ordained for me, When as yet there was not one of them. How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God! How vast is the sum of them!
-Psalm 139.13-17 (NASB)

I attended Grand Rapids Christian High. I clearly recall girls in the bathroom talking about "their abortions" which they had in New York. This was another of many stumbling blocks for me in reference to Sovereign Grace. These girls were not worried about living righteously becasue they were "chosen" and were definitely headed for Heaven no matter what! This was the Christian Culture I was raised in. (Granted it was the 70's)

It amazes me that God continues to Bless our Nation. The Old Testament talks about Gods anger towards the Caananites whose worship to the god Baal involved sacrificing their children among other things.Abortion would place an even lesser value on life.

May God have mercy on the souls of the unborn as well as all those involved in what could be called a "heathen" practice.

It's ironic (and sobering) to think that while we regard many third-world nations as being backwards and barbaric, we routinely slaughter the unborn because they're inconvenient to our way of life. It's also unsettling to think just how used we've gotten to it.

Sobering - 40 Million.

Now imagine the Billions "murdered" through Birth Control.

I meant to make a qualification...

Even abstinance with the intent of preventing birth, though you don't murder an actual person, is a violation of the 6th commandment; for seeking to keep junior from coming into conception is not promoting, but preventing or hindering life.

Oh Snap, Roman Catholics!

Q. 135. What are the duties required in the sixth commandment?

A. The duties required in the sixth commandment are all careful studies, and lawful endeavors, to preserve the life of ourselves and others by resisting all thoughts and purposes, subduing all passions, and avoiding all occasions, temptations, and practices, which tend to the unjust taking away the life of any; by just defence thereof against violence, patient bearing of the hand of God, quietness of mind, cheerfulness of spirit; a sober use of meat, drink, physic, sleep, labour, and recreations; by charitable thoughts, love, compassion, meekness, gentleness, kindness; peaceable, mild and courteous speeches and behaviour; forbearance, readiness to be reconciled, patient bearing and forgiving of injuries, and requiting good for evil; comforting and succouring the distressed and protecting and defending the innocent.

Q. 136. What are the sins forbidden in the sixth commandment?

A. The sins forbidden in the sixth commandment are, all taking away the life of ourselves, or of others, except in case of public justice, lawful war, or necessary defence; the neglecting or withdrawing the lawful and necessary means of preservation of life; sinful anger, hatred, envy, desire of revenge; all excessive passions, distracting cares; immoderate use of meat, drink, labor, and recreations; provoking words, oppression, quarreling, striking, wounding, and whatsoever else tends to the destruction of the life of any.

Abortion. Definition: a child sacrifice offered in pagan worship. It is killed to honor the gods of convenience, pride, self-worth, and materialism.
