The decision of the Dutch Synods has been very correct indeed, namely, that none other but the Psalms of David are to be used in the churches (IV: 35).
I recommend two books to read on EP. First is a book you can find on Google Books called "An Essay on Psalmody" by William Romaine. Second is a short little book by John W. Keddie found at Crown and Covenant's website.
