The Hypocrisy of Our Humanity

Too often we fail in the Christian life. Too often we stumble and we fall. We use our tongue to sin. We use our facial expressions to murder. We use our posture to crush another's spirit. The Apostle James told us that this happens, even in our Christian life. "We stumble in many ways" says James. He then goes on to tell us that all kinds of animals are able to be domesticated- but we have not been able to domesticate our own tongues. We murder with our very tongues.

Thank God that he has provided His Son to free us from our own tongues, our own murdering, our own hypocrisy. Thank God that Jesus has been provided to save us from ourselves. It's not hypocrisy- it's the battle called the Christian life. Keep fighting.

Ouch! That video is way to close to home! I, too, am in awe of God's incredible mercy and grace, and stand in righteousness before Him, in worship and otherwise, based only on the imputed righteousness of Christ. I could not ever (even on good days) worship and praise Him if I did it out of my own worthiness. I worship and praise Him because HE is worthy of praise. May God, who has lifted the veil from my eyes to behold Him, sanctify me day by day to narrow the divide between the reality of my life and His righteousness. "But when one turns to the Lord, the veil is removed. Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit."
